University Hospital Health System's Bedford Medical Center was evaluated in an attempt to receive an accreditation as a Chest Pain Center.  A key component of this process was an analysis of the interaction between the hospital and pre-hospital care providers (EMS).

Members of the Bedford Fire Department were asked to be part of the accreditation process.  Lieutenants Greg Miller and Dave Moore along with Firefighters Vic DePasquale and Kevin Messich were an integral part of this evaluation.

Dialogue is currently taking place regarding additional cooperative projects between the Bedford Fire Department and Bedford Medical Center that will strengthen this community partnership.
